Arrabiata Pasta with Roasted Shrimp
A spicy version of a classic marinara sauce. If you’re a bit hesitant about spice, start with half of the crushed red pepper flakes and add to your preference. Super simple to prepare yet impressive!

Ingredients
Instructions
- In a large Dutch oven heat the 3T olive oil over medium heat. Saute onions until tender, 8 to 10 minutes. Add the red pepper flakes and garlic and cook 30 seconds or so. Stir in the tomatoes and sugar. Continue to cook another 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt to your preference.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- In stock pot, bring water to boil, salt generously. Add in pasta and cook to al dente per package directions. (NOTE: try to time it so pasta will be ready about the same time the sauce is done).
- While pasta is cooking, spray parchment lined baking sheet with cooking spray. Add shrimp, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Roast 6 to 8 minutes until just starting to turn pink. Add shrimp to sauce. There will be carry over cooking.
- Reserve ½ cup pasta cooking water. Drain pasta, or use spider to move the pasta directly to the sauce. Thin out the sauce with the pasta water if needed.
- Stir in one half of the cheese and top with remaining cheese. Serve and enjoy!
Chef's Notes
Use EZ peel shrimp or peeled and deveined shrimp if possible. It’s a time saving short cut!
